The Pacifier Tree
Two weeks ago on a nice sunny Saturday we walked down to a nice nearby park; Frederiksberg Have. The park is next to the zoo so you can see into the new elephant house from the park. There are boattours, there is a tiny ferry, an old Chinese temple, beautiful flowers, loads of ducks, geese and cranes and even a peacock and a big old castle. There is also a pacifier tree in the park. In Denmark when a parent wants the child to stop using their pacifiers they sometimes take the child down to a pacifier-tree where they hang the pacifiers from the tree on nice ribbons. Some parents write a little letter to the pacifier tree and enclose a picture of the child or drawings. We read some of the letters and apparently a lot of parents feel that when you turn 3, you are too big to use your pacifier, and then it goes to the pacifier tree. So here are some pictures of the pacifier tree in Frederiksberg Have.
