Last weekend Lenes dad, Ulf, celebrated his 60th birthday. On the Friday Ulf invited the whole family out for dinner at Jensens Bøfhus - well, we decided to leave Samuel at home in the able hands of his babysitter, Anne Christine. She even brought her guitar so she could play songs for him! She claimed it was to practice but we know better! she didn't need to, though, since the little one slept like a "baby" while we were gone.
The birthday boy is sitting proudly in the middle!
We very much enjoyed a night on our own, with good food and good company!
Ulf had been online to check the menu card so he knew exactly what to get. Mike hadn't, but he had some thoughts on how to handle a three course menu. He figured that by the time you get to the dessert you are full and can't eat any more, thus you miss out on the dessert! OH NO! This comes from a guy who took his pregnant wife out for lunch; she gets a nice steak and he got a banana split! So Mike decided to do things a little different. This picture is Mike eating his starter! And yes, that is a piece of cake with ice cream, normally catagorized under "dessert".
Lenes nephews did things in the more normal order, but they went for the all you can eat soft ice. And they enjoyed every second of it. This is Lasse with his 3rd ice cream that Lene and him made together. It contained even amounts of chocolate sauce and ice cream.
On the way home it even snowed and Mike and Lenes nephews got into a snowball fight. Could that evening be any better?
The day after we had been summoned to the home of the birthday boy for board games, more good company and more good food. This time Samuel came with us and he very much enjoyed all the attention he got.
But after a while even little boys get tired and need a nap along with the big boy who was also tired.
Congratulations Mr. Dad and thank you for a great weekend! We love birthdays.
