This Saturday we decided to go to Glyptoteket, a museum here in Copenhagen where they have sculptures from the ancient Rome and up to the present time, French paintings and changing exhibitions. The current exhibition is of Egyptian art.
The building in itself is absolutely gorgeous, so it was an absolute pleasure to go there. We walked around enjoying the beautiful sculptures, the beautiful building and the Egyptian exhibition and finally we were all sculptured-out, the museum was closing and we were ready to go home. Then we realised that we had only seen half of the things on display! We have to return another time and see the rest. We are very okay with that! And the next time we also know where the elevators are! That would have been nice to know this time too, though!
As part of the Egyptian exihibition they had some mummies on display. It was quite strange standing there looking at a dead person wrapped in linnen! One of the mummies had been examinated and the wrapping had come a little undone, so he had two fingers sticking out of the bandages. That is not a thing you normally see on a random Saturday.
What a day it have been! We are already looking forward to the next weekend.
Samuel and Mike had a great time looking at the fish in the pond. Samuel could have stayed there for hours.
Lene and Samuel trying to read hiroglyphs, not succeeding!
What a pose!
