Happy Birthday

Yesterday my better half turned one year older.

I got out the birthday table cloth, bought nice breakfast, treats, and gifts, got the kids up, changed diapers and dressed them, gave them each a flag and then we went to wake up the sleeping Mike.

And he was sleeping, he wasn't faking it, not even close.

Actually he was so tired that when I was done singing "Happy Birthday" to him, he looked at us - and asked if he could just sleep for another 10 minutes.

When it's your birthday you decide, so he slept another 10 minutes, bringing that nights sleep to a total of 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Actually I think one of his best gift was the 3 hour nap around noon.

We had a nice, relaxed day, enjoying the good weather. Well, the kids and I. Mike worked the entire day and a good portion of the night. But at least he was dressed in fashion, wearing his new gifts, eating delicious birthday cakes and being surrounded by flags. That must count for something, right?

Right?

We might have to have a do-over birthday for him. But for now, happy birthday better half, you are my favorite ice cream flavour!

"I don't mind your odd behaviour
It's the very thing I love
If you were an ice cream flavour
You would be my favorite one
My imagination sees you like a painting by Van Gogh
Starry nights and bright sunflowers
follow you where you may go"

Come on, that is brilliant lyrics!

I heard this song the other day and Samuel and me both like the song, even though I think the fascination for Samuel has more to do with the little girl dancing than the actual song.

Tomorrow more riveting things will be found on this blog. I can hardly wait!
