One day we needed fresh air, and so we got Martha, all our kids and Oma out with us. We headed for the cows.

You gotta love cows, and we don't see many of them back where we live.

Samuel especially loves the cows, and will happily say "Moooooh", everytime he sees a cow or hears one. And let me tell you, we've passed a lot of cows on our German trip. The kid was busy "mooooing".
When we came down to the cowfield we saw something rather unexpected. One of the cows had just given birth, and a little cute, calf was laying on the ground.

Mama cow seemed rather stressed, and the calf was not standing up. I got stressed to, worrying that something was wrong with the calf, and thinking of the poor cow who just gave birth. I was asking Martha where the farmer lived, and whether we should get a hold of him.

The calf remained laying down. I continued to panic.

Poor calf. Poor mama cow who was now mooing pretty loudly and desperately!

Even Samuel didn't seem too comfortable at the amount of loud mooing.

It also didn't help that the cows were pretty close. They are really big, those cows!

Mike finally convinced me that we had to leave, that we didn't know where the farmer lived and we couldn't do anything. I was really stressing, looking at little Magnus, thinking what if it had been me giving birth and no one was there to help me. No drugs. No midwives. No calm husband and awesome sister.

I know, I know. I think of some strange things at times, but still. Just imagine!

*Gasp*

But just as we were leaving the calf got up, the mama cow calmed down and we saw the farmer approach the cows.

Happy End!
