I would like to appologize for the last post. It was depressing and complaining.
I'll try and avoid those in the future. Life sometimes is a little hard and frustrating, but I am pretty sure wallowing in your challenges doesn't help the situation.
So instead I am going to be positive and this post is about sick kids - with a positive spin on it. Are you excited?
I knew you would be!
We went to visit Samuels friend, Annesofie, to celebrate her birthday this Saturday. Magnus wasn't feeling very well, and when I finally got the two kids home, the first thing I did was to check his temperature.
39,4 degrees celcius.
And because I am a paranoid mother I also checked Samuels temperature. He was not impressed by that maneuvre and told me repeatedly that "That was not that smart, mum".
(Today I went and bought a thermometer for the ear to avoid further frustration)
Samuel was absolutely fit for fight, but had a temperature of 39,2.
Fortunately the kids both fell to sleep very quickly and slept so well. And this is the first cool thing about sick kids. We didn't get up till 9.30.
The second cool thing wasn't so much the kids being sick, but the great timing. Because they got sick the weekend Mike had borrowed a projector from his work.
You gotta love Winnie the Pooh in extra large.
Another point for the timing, we had cakes galore in the house because we had baked for the birthday party.
Being sick or being the parent of a sick child is much better when there is cake in the house.
And finally come Sunday night both kids seemed like they had a normal temperature. I didn't dare check it because when Samuel saw the thermometer he had a small meltdown. And today they were back to normal, a little more tired than normal, but otherwise okay.
Children should be sick this way every time they get sick. Especially the sleeping till 9.30 thing.
