Checking out mr. Beetle

Yesterday Samuel discovered a tiny beetle in his bedroom. There was much excitement.

So much so that it really made me aware of the fact that our children are urban-children. Of course that fact that Samuel referred to it as a spider the first 5 minutes added to that.

The beetle kept him entertained for a good 20 minutes, and I could hear him talk to it and a few times he was yelling that it should go away. As great as that was, my favorite point was when he looked up at me and said that he didn't want the beetle to eat him.

Very understandable.

I think we need to get these kids out of the city.
