The end of the weekend

Today my sister accompagnied me and the two small children to church. I am pretty sure that she more than once thought "I am never ever doing this again."

In short actually getting to church was epic. I am not going to bore you with the long version, but suffice to say that one small boy and his bike went on strike a few times, the smaller boy did all sorts of houdini tricks, and yours truly with her bad back just stood there and gave my poor sister directions: "Ahm, Anne, would you please make sure Magnus doesn't fall out of the stroller? It looks kinda dangerous right now. Oh, and Samuel is asking you to put his glove back on. And Magnus is crying. Could you also find his pacifier? It was there just a minute ago." When she took of her jacket in the bus because she was all warm, I knew that she was even more anxious for my back to get better than I am.

Mike came home in the afternoon, happy and content after a wonderful but quite hectic whirl-wind wedding. Actually so hectic, that I am not even sure the kids noticed he was even away. We also kept them plenty busy sleeping in, brunch, a nice stroll, tasty dinner, baths and an almost never ending repeat of a cartoon duck jumping into a swimming pool. I am not sure Magnus have ever enjoyed anything as much as he did that duck.

While the duck was busy jumping, and Magnus was chuckling, I cleaned the kitchen, and obviously poor Anne was asked to help me with all the areas I couldn't reach. Like the 15 or so cannisters with spices that Magnus had taken out of the cupboard, the cupboard I can't reach. And all the bowls, trays, pots, bread baskets and so forth that I needed back into another cupboard. Again a cupboard I can't reach.

Did I mention she also washed the floor under our dining table? And she was the one giving my kids their baths?

She does deserve a medal.

Oh, and I did mention that it was on her birthday, right!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My sister just about to sample what was to become my friends wedding cake!
