For reasons I can't really remember but may have been connected to me and my sore back, I introduced Samuel to the world of computer games. I know, I know, bad mother!
But I really thought Samuel could handle it, not succumb to the world of violence and addiction, to just enjoy the pure fun of it.
I was wrong.
It all started innocently. I found a game with Kaj and Andrea, a frog and a parrot from a Danish childrens show.
See there they are. So cute!
It is Andrea in the helicopter, flying up to the tree to get fruits for a cake, they are baking. Kaj is the lovely green frog holding the basket, where Andrea puts the fruit after she is done collecting it.
In the tree there are 6 different kinds of fruit, 3 of each. So Kaj will tell Andrea to please get some lemons and the player then flies Andrea up the tree and help her collect the 3 lemons, leaving the other fruits behind.
If you by accident pick one of the other fruits, Andrea will drop it to the ground where it will hit poor Kaj, resulting in some sort of "aww" comment from him.
After you pick the 3 fruits you need, you fly down and give them to Kaj, and he now tells you to get some other fruits. When Andrea goes back up, all the fruits are now back on the tree and you start picking.
Seriously, that shouldn't be able to turn out badly, right?
Take a look at this screen. Do you see something strange? Something missing?
Maybe if we look a little closer?
So, Samuel, where are all the fruits?
Turns out my son, my first-born, my big boy is picking all the wrong fruits just so that Andrea will drop them and they will hit poor Kaj. He does this over and over again, all the while he is chuckling to himself.
Next time it is World of Warcraft, I am sure!
But at least Kaj and Andrea got all their fruits and baked a huge cake with them!
So I guess all is well that ends well, right?
I just have a few things, I am wondering ... what kind of cake can you bake using plums, lemons, bananas, apples, pears and oranges? Why on earth is a parrot using a helicopter to fly up to the tree? And how does it steer the thing? And what kind of tree has 6 different kinds of fruit on it?
Notice how I am refraining from commenting on the fact that the animals talk, sing and bake cakes? I have to stop somewhere : )
If you want to try the fruit picking yourself, here you go.
