Even more birthday

On Samuels actual birthay we had flags up and the special birthday table cloths. We sung a birthday song for Samuel and Aja even brought Samuel a gift. The two little ones spent the day playing together.

In the afternoon Aja and her mom, Ronja, invited us to go to gymnastic class with them. Mike and me think it is really about time to start training him for the olympics so we went with them. We had a great time there and we are definitly going back. Just look at the fantastisk surroundings.

To the left, Aja and her mom, and to the right, Mike trying to teach Samuel to hang tight.

Samuel was wearing his "1" t-shirt to celebrate his birthday, but got quite warm after a while and ended up crawling around in his pants and his superman bodystocking looking prettty cool. Superman babies rock!

He got a little sandwich and then we walked home where he got the rest of the sandwich, and then some more and then a little more. Apparently the body of a one year old requires a lot more food than it did when it was just 0 years.

In our home we want to celebrate birthdays in style, so there is nice food, cool decorations and good company, but we also really want to celebrate the fact that this particular birthdayboy or -girl was born, so we are starting a tradition of writing a little thank-you-for-being-born-letter to the person with the birthday. So we also gave Samuel his birthday letters on his birthday - meaning that we put them in a little box for him to open when he gets older. And at his birthday party we had everyone there draw him a little picture or write him a little letter. That is a cool thing to have later on!
