The day after christmas

On the 25th Samuel was more than ready to check out all his gifts. And so after breakfast we took him upstairs and he quickly found the pile of toys he had gotten the day before. He also unwrapped a few packages, that we had saved for him.

And then he started on the lego boxes. We tried to show him some of his books and clothes, but nothing could compete with those brightly colored boxes.

My stepsiblings, Mike and me were all around him, and he was so excited. I think all the attention and the new things got to him, and at one point he was just dancing and jumping around.

Mike had gotten him this apron, which is still a bit to big - but it matches our salt and pepper shakers : )

He looked adorable with it on, but he wasn't in the mood to wear it.

After this gift frenzy, Samuel had a little bath with me, a little lunch was eaten and we skipped the idea of a walk, since it was pouring down. Fortunately the day before had been nice and white with snow covering the ground, and Samuel and Mike had had a nice walk, thrown snowballs and enjoyed themselves.

In the evening of the 25th my dad drove us home and we put a little, overstimulated, excited, tired boy to bed, Afterwards we sat down in the couch and talked about how fortunate we were to have such wonderful families, to be so blessed as we are and how grateful we were for everything we have. Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year, and I love the oppertunity we have to spend time with some of our loved ones, to slow down for a little while and to tell other people how much we appreciate them.

I hope you all had a great christmas and I would like to thank you all for all the experiences we have had together, emails and phonecalls we have received, and thoughts and prayers for us and our family. We are so grateful to have you all in our lives!
