"The Rice Incident"

This is a picture of our living room after a horrible incident took place a few days ago. There were no eye witnesses to the incident, so we will never know what exactly happened but here is what we do know.

10:37 Witness L (who may or may not be a 30-something mother of two), standing in the kitchen, hands person S (who may or may not be a 2-year old boy) a big plastic bowl containing a lot of rice, a few cups, small bowls and some spoons.

10:38 After surveying the content of the bowl person S leaves the kitchen with the items in his hands. This is the last time we see the rice in the bowl.

10:40 Witness L does the dishes while she can hear the sound of Person S moving about in the living room. She assumes that he is playing with the rice in the living room, by the couch table, like he normally does. Witness L doesn't hear anything what causes her to suspect that something is wrong.

10:43 Person S reenters the kitchen.

10:44 Person S passes by Witness L and opens a kitchen cupboard where he looks at the bags of flour. While he is doing this, witness L notices that he has a few grains of rice in his hair.

10:46 Person S leaves the kitchen again, presumably he got bored looking at the bags of flour.

10:47 Witness L is now done doing the dishes and leaves the kitchen and goes into the living room to join Person S.

10:48 Witness L sees person S and the living room, every single inch of the living room, covered in rice! Witness L states: "Rice all over! All over the floor, the couches were full of rice and it seems every single crack in the livingroom has rice in it."

10:49 Witness L gets out the broom.
And the vacuum cleaner,
and the mop
and takes the couches apart and sweeps and vacuum cleans under all the furniture pieces in the living room. Afterwards she washes the floor. And puts all the furniture pieces back.

11:30 Person S is enjoying his lunch in one of the couches while looking at witness L cleaning.

11:50 Witness L takes the picture seen at the top of this post.

11:58 Witness L is done cleaning.

We have our suspicions as to who might have been involved in "the rice incident" but unfortunately we have no clear evidence to back up those theories. So it seems that this will be yet another unsolved mystery.


As a sidenote I can add that at 14:02 Witness L was sitting in the couch, enjoying the clean floor, when she accidentally pushes a glass off the table and unto the floor where it brakes into a million pieces. And then she got out the broom and ...
