The latest adventure

Yesterday we went for an outing. I love outings.

I didn't love the rain that started just as I was putting shoes and jackets on the kids. And had I not told Samuel that we were going to the firestation to look at the firetrucks and had he not been wearing his fireman helmet and chanting "firetrucks, firetrucks", I would have stayed home. I don't like the rain.

But I did love the bright blue sky and wonderful sun that came out when we reached our destination. And I loved Samuel sitting on top of the buggy with the hood of his rain jacket on, and on top of it was his fireman helmet.

He was asking for the firetrucks all the way there.

He was very relieved when he finally saw them.

Samuel looking sharp in his rain jacket.

While the firemen were explaining how to extinguish fires and what number to call to report a fire, Samuel had a little sandwich and relaxed.

Even the most enthusiastic firetruck-fan can get hungry.

Magnus woke up in time to see some of all the drama and they both enjoyed their seats on the buggy.

That was especially good since I was the bad mom who hadn't brought rainpants for Samuel so he couldn't sit on the ground like all the other kids.

I can't believe all the other parents had packed rainpants for their kids that morning when the sky was still blue, and I who had even see the rain start, didn't manage to bring rainpants for my child.

Bad mum, bad, bad mum!

But to my defence he did actually have a better view from the buggy. And I am sure those kids got cold sitting down on the ground.

Yes, yes, that makes me feel a little better.

Can you feel the drama?

Fire, smoke, cries for help.

Cries for help?

Oh, yes. Can you see him? If you look really, really close?

The frightened teddybear?

See, he is right there.

All the kids was very caught up in this. There is nothing like a teddybear in danger, in mortal danger even, to catch the attention of small people.

Fortunately the firetruck was close by.

And before we knew it ...

the teddybear was saved.

Samuel was very caught up in the drama.

And Magnus ...

not so much.

My favorite part of the visit was this

Samuel almost falling off the buggy, looking up

All the kids looking up,

Looking at this

Doesn't that look awesome?

As you can tell Magnus was a little harder to excite.

Maybe next year.

Poor tired Magnus.

On Wednesday there is another Firestation Open House.

I think we might have to go again. You know, just to make sure they save the teddybear again. That is important stuff.

Jeg synes det ser ud som om I havde en fantastisk udflugt, men jeg er altså ikke helt overbevist om det nye design på bloggen. Jeg er ikke så god til forandringer!
