You know what, I still have tons of pictures left in my Germany folder. We just did so many things, met so many great people and I took tons of pictures. But honestly, right now I don't feel like putting any of them on.
I'll share them later.
Instead here is what happened the last week in our house.
Mike worked.
Samuel slept, chilled and relaxed. The Germany trip was hard on him, and in the week we've been back he's been taking it easy. He needed that, and I enjoyed it. It is surprising how much you can get done without kids around.
One day he sat in his bed for 45 minutes reading books. Meanwhile Magnus was taking his morning nap and I was emptying cupboards and sorting through stuff. Another step in the famous mini-move I am doing. I also reorganized the entire kitchen with the help of my lovely sister. And when I say "I reorganized the kitchen", I really mean that my sister did it all. I just told her what I wanted to keep, and whether I used the different items on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It was pretty easy and she did an excellent job. I really should hire her out to organize peoples homes. She would be in high demand.
I also decided to paint a few shelfs and a little stool. Because that is what you do when you do a move, be it a minimove or a "real" move. I just didn't realise that those shelves were screwed into the wall with 15 extremely long nails. The time and effort it took me to get those shelves off the wall was rather surprising. I ended up doing it over two evenings. Today I finally painted them, and now I am thinking it will take me another two evenings to get the shelves up again. And so for all the work required to paint those shelves white, it better look really good.
Magnus got a new tooth on the last day we were in Germany, he's got an impressive cold right now, poor kid. Kleenex Balsam are currently our best friend. He is adorable as ever and I pretty much feel like the luckiest woman in the world because he is my baby and Samuel is my boy.
Right now my three favorite men are all laying in our bed, sleeping. I like that.
Mike is finally done with his latest project and can get some rest now. He needs it. And even though they may all be asleep, I hope it qualifies for 'quality time' for the three of them.
I bought oranges for Mike. He like to drink fresh orange juice, he believes it chases away all kinds of sickness. I hope he won't need that, but after such a week, you never know.
I just went to check on the guys in the bed. Samuel was awake, and even though he is laying in his sleepingbag, I asked whether he wanted the duvet on too. He loves that, being all snuggled up, warm and cosy. I did the same one day when I put him down for his midday nap. Unfortunately I had forgotten all about it and so when I came to wake him up two hours later, he was fast asleep, drenched in sweat and very, very warm.
Just another story for my "bad mother" list. Well, at least he had a good sleep, right?
Right?
Okay, anyway ...
It is past my bedtime, Samuels cars are still lined up on the floor and I have a load of laundry I need to hang up. I kinda like this little life of mine.
Hope you all have a great week!
