If I could I would invite christmas over to stay at my house. I would serve christmas nice food, get out the best duvet and a fluffy pillow. There would even be breakfast in bed. I would spoil christmas to the point that it would never want to leave my house. Ever!
You want to know why I love christmas? Okay, I really should have started explaining this back on December 1st, but I'll do my best.
Christmas brought me these two guys, Lasse and Rasmus. Samuel loves them and I believe the feeling to be mutual. Today they came over for their third visit in 4 days. When I told Samuel they would come over today along with grandpa, he became so excited he could barely breathe. And lunch was completely impossible. Who needs food when you are waiting for you favorite cousins?
Yup, they love him back. |
Another reason I love christmas is the gifts. I get to give gifts to all the people that matters most to me.
Like Mike.
I got him tickets to the Opera and I am already looking forward to us going. Naturally I also got him a t-shirt - like always. It would be a shame not to give him the usual t-shirt since that is the only thing on his wishlist.
I also got a few gifts for other people. You know, just one or two ...
And christmas allows me to play around with all my ribbons, stickers, wrapping paper and so on. This year I had a blast wrapping all the gifts.
At one point I considered volunteering to wrap my sisters gifts too. |
I also love all the decorations. The baubles, pine branches, the christmas tree ... ahhh, and all the glitter.
This year we even got two christmas trees. One big one, actually really, really big! And one small one.
Samuel decorated it himself. It looked unique.
Yup, that's what I mean by unique. |
Christmas also gives me a reason to do things I don't do normally. Like make a gingerbread house. I bought a ready made version, that only needed to be assembled and decorated.
Samuel got it in his gift calender on the 23rd.
It was pretty dissapointing.
Luckily we were not to be stopped. We had frosting and m&m's. They needed to be used.
That's how I decorate a cookie. |
Hi Sweetie! See, it's a cake just for you. |
Samuel helped me too. He really enjoyed piling on the chocolate. But who doesn't?
I ate this one yesterday. I am still on a sugar high from that! |
Samuel tested them while we were decorating and they seemed to please him. Yum!
Christmas gives me a reason to have bells, angels and lights up.
I love the bells. We have some big ones on our christmas tree and I love their sound, when someone passes the branches where they hang. So cozy.
I also love christmas because christmas got my boys these. Or my boys got these for christmas. It's the same thing, almost. Right?
I think Samuel had a great christmas too.
If I were to invite Christmas over, I am sure Samuel would love that too. Christmas could help us bake cookies, make christmas treats, do christmas decorations and watch christmas plays with us.
It would be great. Maybe christmas could carry the camera around and take pictures of us doing all those activities - because I apparently don't do it.
I hope you all had a great christmas! I know we had : )
