I love my to-do-list

Today I have slowly been working my way through my to-do-list.

Yes, yes, I am still working on it. But when your to-do-list is 2½ pages long, I feel it is okay if it takes a while.

My list hangs on a door in the living room so I can keep an eye on it during the day and cross out as a accomplish the task written on it. I'v crossed out a lot of things on the list.

I like it, the crossing out! I like that a lot.

But even more I like accomplishing the task written on the list. I love that!

Like today when I took pictures for an online shop I am working on. I had a blast in the presence of these beautiful earrings, and I enjoyed trying out new things with my lovely camera. This evening I edited some of the pictures and posted the pictures and text into the little online shop.

It was fun!

And that is why I love my to-do-list. Because it gives me the necessary structure to actually do things and not just talk about doing things. I am a master of procrastination, a master of watching television (which is why we do not have a television) and a master at forgetting what I am doing and taking a nap instead. The list saves me. It reminds me of what my goals are, my dreams and my passion.

It also reminds me of boring things like scanning in pictures of our ancestors, which is brain-numbing work. It is still on the list. I keep postponing it. But I'll get it done eventually and I will be glad I did it, when my dad remembers that I have all the pictures laying around and he wants them back.

(Hi dad!)

I recently talked to a friend of mine who was thanking me and my fellow crafters for a package the crafting club had sent her. She said that she often thought of doing things like that, but that she never really got around to it. That is exactly me without my to-do-list.

So today I am grateful for to-do-lists. And I am grateful that it is actually only a 1 page to-do-list now, because that means I can start adding new and fun things to it. Like answering that mail from my old travelling buddy, take a nap, decorate for christmas, and write a blogpost that makes total sense.

Tomorrow ... are you ready for it ... tomorrow I am planning on sorting through some Tupperware and taking pictures so I can sell it online. Yes, I am saving the boring assignments for last.

Here's to doing the last task on your to-do-list!
Hurray.
