Perfect days

Sunday evening Mike returned home from a four day trip to Berlin. Both the two kids and I were happy and excited to see him, but goodness gracious did he ever miss out on some perfect, perfect days.

We had bright blue sky. It was amazing. One day we even wore t-shirts and no jackets.

 

This guy was healthy and in an excellent mood. He enjoyed life in the sandbox, and he enjoyed the huge brunch he ate an hour after this picture was taken.Samuel did too, drinking countless smoothies and orange juice, and eating his share of yoghurt.

Samuel loves the sandbox and loves being outdoor. We were out everyday and it was heaven for him - well, for all of us. Later this day we also did a little shopping and he was jumping and dancing all the way, pointing out the airplanes that flew over us, the moon, the busses, trailers and so forth.

I love sitting in the sandbox with the sun in my face and two happy boys around me. We looked at snails, spiders, a rainworm and a larva. A few dogs also stopped by and Magnus impressed us all by saying "Vuf vuf", when I showed him the dogs.

Their granddad and aunt came over for a little sandbox play-time, dinner and lego-building. And Samuels friend came over the following day for a litte crafting, pizza and even more playing. And finally on the Sunday their favorite babysitter came home with us after church and spent the whole day with us, once more an hour was spent in the sandbox.

And while we waited for dad to arrive ... or well, more like when I was clearing off the table 4 hours before Mike was due home, there was a knock on the door and there was one of our neighbors holding this plate.

"I could imagine you have some hungry boys", he said. They had celebrated his birthday and had too many leftovers.

Thanks so much! What a perfect way to end a few perfect days with lots of sun and outdoor time and excellent company. Samuel ate a muffin and Magnus ate the strawberries, refusing any cake. When I put Magnus to bed, I could smell the strawberries still on his little hands.

I am so ready for summer and more perfect days in the sun. I already checked and all the excellent company is more than happy to come over again.
