Christmas and New Years Eve

There are tons of pictures from the last few days just waiting to be shared with the rest of the world, meaning you readers of this blog. Pictures of Samuel and Magnus unwrapping gifts, me eating, Mike sleeping and playing with the kids' toys, and many, many more.

We've had such wonderful last few weeks. There has been great company, new friends, old friends, family and some days just the four of us. We've played, relaxed, slept and five million other things. It has been so nice.

But even though I spent half the day yesterday sleeping I still feel sluggish - actually, maybe because I spent half the day yesterday sleeping! So for now I'll share the entertainment portion of today.

Samuel have been on fire today and he has kept me plenty entertained!

It started while we were in line at the grocery store. Magnus, who is madly in love with all things animals, noticed the big posters for dog- and catfood, and we started talking about pets. Samuel said that we didn't have any pets. I made a fun reply saying that we had daddy, but I wasn't sure that really counted. Okay, so it wasn't that fun. But I thought that was the end of that conversation.

However, this must have started something because Samuel then told me that we should have a cow. A cow? So as I was paying for our groceries, he was telling me how we should get a cow, and how we needed fresh grass for it. When I asked him whether he thought that the cow could walk up all the stairs to our apartment, he was certain it could.

On the way back to our apartment I commented how we could then get fresh milk every day. He was excited and said that then we never had to buy milk again. Clever little boy. He also told me that we would need a tractor, and then we could get fresh grass and we had to get a bag so we could carry the grass up the stairs. And he would make sure it got grass to eat every day.

On the way up the stairs we discussed who should milk the cow and who would hold it while it was milked. Samuel told me how the cow needed to stand still while it was milked. I am not sure how he knew, but it does seem like a good idea to me too. I said I could milk it while he held it. He added that he could also stroke it.

While we took jackets and shoes off the cow had now gotten a calf.

As I was cooking, he was sitting on the table telling me how we could give the calf a bottle and take care of it. After a while he decided that three cows would be even better, and they could each have three calfs. For a little while he was also toying with the idea of having a baby lion, but it was soon forgotten again.

During dinner Samuel told us that we needed to get a cow bell for the cows so we could hear where they were. Mike joked that they would need it so we could hear whether they were in the kitchen or the bathroom. Samuel was not impressed, because obviously they were to be outside. And they couldn't be in the sandbox because there is no grass there. He told us exactly where in the garden they were to be, and that he needed a rope for them, so he could pull them up the stairs. Apparently they are supposed to be sleeping at our house. And something was mentioned about us getting some extra beds. I really should have asked where they were supposed to be.

Fortunately he has taken it upon himself to feed them and get them to and from the apartment, and the newest development is that he is also going to milk them. Maybe we should actually get a few cows!

Anyway if anyone is wondering why his wish list this year has cows on it, then this is the explanation. Or maybe it is not really an explanation, more like a ... actually I am not sure what it is, but it certainly has been interesting!
