Today has been a busy day.
Our kitchen look like it ate half a grocery store. I don't think I've ever had this many vegetables in my house. We have 5 kilos of tomatoes. I am not entirely sure we'll ever get around to eating all those.
Mike is making pizzette right now. It is his first time doing any sort of bigger cooking. He is doing really good and is very enthusiastic. He even learned how to use the oven after sharing a kitchen with it for 3½ years. I sense it could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
The pizzette looks a lot like pizza, but for reasons unknown to me it is not pizza. That is at least what the cookbook and, more importantly, what Mike claims. Quite adamantly. I will let you know when I figure out the difference between pizza and pizzette. For now suffice to say that the pizzette is quite tasty.
All the cooking and cleaning and arranging is for tomorrow, for our little boy. Because our little boy is getting blessed at church tomorrow. I am so excited and I have been looking forward to this for a long time.
Afterwards friends and family will join us for a little celebration at our home - there will be pizzette, diferens dishes with some of the 5 kilos of tomatoes and for the fortunate ones (or maybe I should call them the brave ones), "summerdrink from the east".
Mike got the summerdrink at the ethnic store and it looks quite dodgy and it smells of perfume. I am passing on that one.
If any of our guests get sick from drinking any of it, will we then have to pay them some sort of compensation? Maybe I should check whether our insurance covers summerdrink-poisoning.
Uhh, my pizzette is done.
Yum!
See you tomorrow.
