Finally a picture of me. And no the pictures in this post have nothing to do with the actual post. I just liked the pictures.
This post is about our life, and yes, it really is that quirky and random. But we love it.
The daycare is going really well, but that is really no surprise! I get paid to look after my own two kids. I get free diapers (hurray!) and I have to give the kids organic dairy and grain products (which we do anyway). What is not too love?
Plus there is a awesome playgroup once a week with some great people. I feel ultra blessed to get paid to look after my own kids.
And also a little spoiled, but I can get used to that.
Tomorrow the kids and I are going to the Zoo with the other daycare moms. I am so excited and you can safely expect many pictures from that outing.
Samuel and me already practised making the different animal sounds today so he is completely ready for tomorrow.
Tomorrow I have another exciting activity planned. I am making liverpate (leverpostej). It does seem like I am taking this whole "hausfrau" a little too far.
But actually, I love being in my kitchen, preparing tasty food. Today I made a flatleaf parsley pesto (wow, try saying that 3 times fast) and I totally enjoyed every moment of it.
Okay, not the moment where I accidentally tipped my immersion blender to the one side and pesto was flying all over the place. But I loved all the other moments : )
And I love when the the small people in my house loves the food I make. Samuel really like liverpate so I am thinking I am sure to have a hit on my hands if I make it myself. Right?
Magnus actually cleaned of his plate today, and even though the chicken-potato-broccoli-cous cous looked pretty slimy and unappetixing, I couldn't help but be a little proud that he eats the food I make. Is there a word for that? And should I be worried?
Anyway the liver looks really gross. Really, really gross. I have a hard time believing anything good can come out of it. But I guess if they will eat burned prunes, then they'll also go for the liver.
Me and my family with our grandmothers.
The pot survived the burned prunes by the way, and both Samuel and Magnus have been eating prunes with great delight the last week. I think I may have told Samuel it was chocolate in order to make him taste it. Is that very wrong?
I have to make a new portion soon, and I am considering the whole pot-situation. I love my pots (they are pastelcoloured, that should be reason enough), and I am scared I'll repeat the whole "burning" accident and maybe this time my pot can't be saved.
Gosh, the drama of my life.
However, I don't have any pots I don't like.
What to do, what to do? I guess we all have to face difficult decisions in our life!
Speaking of difficult experiences, if your 2 year old boy ever unrolls an entire toiletpaper roll, then don't, DON'T put it all in the toilet and flush. It just won't work. I've learned this the hard way.
Thinking of the cleaning-up part makes me shiver. Yuck!
My sister, brother and me on a warm summerday.
To end this on a happy note - I don't want anyone reading this and going to bed dreaming of cleaning out a toilet full of ... anyway!
Mike just got a job. It is all very exciting. He'll be teaching "design and concept development" at a business college in Køge. It will just be two days a week which fits him perfectly, and he'll be teaching all the foreign students, so no worries about the language, or well, lack of Danish language.
More happy news. Samuel ate a small package of raisins and two carrots the other day. I was so happy I shed a little tear. You might think I am kidding, but no. I really did. The kid will eat prune porridge and liverpate, but he will not eat any vegetables, nor any raw fruit or raisins for that matter.
Oh, and Magnus can almost, almost crawl. He might not be perfectly on all fours all the time, but he can get around pretty fast. And I often hear a panicked "No, Marnus, no" from the livingroom when Magnus gets within touching distance to Samuels toys. I feel the next few weeks is going to be a hard time for poor Samuel.
My mum and dad and me.
See, that there, that's patient parents.
