Lately we've been using quite a lot of ready-made prune porridge. For Magnus.
Yup, I'll spare you the yucky details. I am sure you do not need to have this one explained.
One of the other daycare mothers told me how she prepared her own prune porridge. It was simple and cheap. I was easily hooked.
Another mother commented that she also made it herself, but added apple and cinnamon too it.
As I was down on my last glass of prunes, I decided to make a portion tonight. I put it on while I was doing the dishes. I stirred every once in a while, adding more water to it as necessary.
I felt very competent and wondering why I hadn't done this ages ago. What a great way to make healthy and tasty food and save money in the process.
That was untill I burned the porridge. Badly!
I got out most of the porridge and it doesn't taste burned so I think I can still use it. The bottom of my pot, however, is now covered in burned prunes and it doesn't look like it's planning to leave.
So the good news are that the porridge taste really nice and I made a big portion. I can freeze it down and I'll have enough for the next many days. Meaning I saved money on the ready made option.
The bad news are that if I can't get the pot clean, I might then have to throw out my rather expensive pot. Meaning I have to buy a new one.
The way I see it - this was definitly not the best way to save money.
Magnus better appreciate this porridge!

øv - men prøv at sætte den i blød med vaskepulver.. altså sådan noget til vasketøjet.. det har reddet et par gryder her. Good luck.
