It's been surreal. We've spent so much time in the outdoors, wearing t-shirts and shorts. The kids have loved it, playing in the sandbox, running and crawling on the grass, playing ball and checking out the wonder that is mother nature. Lovely!
But let's move on, because I know you are all just dying to know how it went with the pacifier, right?
No? Not even a little bit?
I don't care. I'll tell you anyway - and I'll show picture of the whole "pacifier-drop-off-expedition". Ha, that'll teach you!
Magnus enjoying the ride in his buggy. He prefers not to be facing me. I don't take it personally, because I figure he is just like his brother, and all he wants to do is look at the cars and what is going on around him.
By the way, can anybody tell me where his reddish hair comes from? I love it, but it is kinda weird that he has it.
While Magnus was enjoying his ride, Samuel rode most of the way on his little scooter. We were away for almost 6 hours and he managed to ride 1-2 kilometers on it. Plus he did a lot of walking. He is one tough guy.
The scooter is almost too small for him, but fortunately a new running-bike has been waiting for him to grow, ever since last fall. And it looks like he is almost big enough now.
I took this picture at the park, and the flower doesn't really have anything to do with anything. But quite obviously that didn't stop me. I am just fascinated with how amazingly sharp my lovely camera is. I am still deeply in love with my camera!
Mike and Samuel looking at some ducks that are passing the path.
And here they are looking at some elephants - fortunately not passing the path.
Ha ha ha! Oh, I crack myself up.
We ate lunch at a little bench, where we had a little hill to the one side of us and the view to the elephants right in front of us.
Samuel enjoyed running down the hill -
And looking at the elephants. He is the little guy on the scooter at the bottom at the picture.
At the pacifier tree, getting ready to say farewell to his last two pacifiers. Yes, he wasn't bothered at all. I took it a lot harder than he did.
Mike scounting the tree for the perfect place to hang the pacifiers.
It was a little strange, because we were there just the week before and we could see that the amount of pacifiers on the tree had increased significantly in that period. I wonder how many people goes there every week - and whether someone cuts the old pacifiers down every once in a while.
Yes, it is questions such as these that keeps me up at night ... but still, someone must cut them down now and then, otherwise it would get kinda yucky.
Samuels red and pink pacifier and a little farewell letter on the tree. I was close to tears at this moment, and Samuel was more bored than anything. He did, however, think it was pretty exciting to go looking for the gift, you get when you give the pacifier tree your pacifiers.
Okay, maybe he didn't think it was all that exciting, but he really did enjoy actually finding his gift - A little Postman Pat giftbox, with books, a colouring book and three small figures.
He slept with the figures next to his bed that night.
Afterwards Samuel found a sandbox to play in, Magnus was still sleeping, Mike and me sat down and relaxed - and the whole pacifier adventure was over.
It wasn't until 10 minutes after we tucked him in that evening that he started asking for his pacifier. Every 10 minute or so he would start crying a little and ask us to bring him his pacifier. We could only tell him that we didn't have any because they were all up on the tree.
Eventually he fell asleep and I prepared myself for the following night. However, the only thing he said was that he didn't use a pacifier anymore. He just fell asleep after singing a little to himself.
I love it when he sings in his bed. It totally makes my day!
I am surprised how easy it all went. Maybe potty training will be just as easy ...
Why are you laughing?
